How to properly promote your business

In this blog post I wanna share some of my experiences. I wanna start off by sharing what doesn’t work and what a lot of people are doing right now.

If you seem desperate then people will think that both you and your services or products are not worth that much. With that said, spamming does not work.

According to a 2008 study by researchers at the University of California, Berkeley and UC, San Diego, spammers get a response just once for every 12.5 million emails they send — a response rate of 0.000008%.

Also keep in mind that spam doesn’t really need to be profitable to be common, at least not for the people whose products are being advertised via spam.  It only has to be profitable for the people who actually send the spam on their behalf.  As long as there are suckers who can be convinced that spamming MIGHT bring them a profit, there will be spammers who will gladly take their money and send spam to advertise their products.

What you want to do instead is create value and have people come to you. You can create a Facebook page and share interesting content. You should refrain from putting a link in every post, first you need to build a relationship with your community before you start to promote your stuff. And even when you are ready to start promoting then just do it every now and then, not every single time. This will create trust, it will make people feel that you are genuinely offering something of value and they will feel good about purchasing from you.

If you don’t believe that this method will work then take Gary Vee as an inspiring example.

This man has a net worth of $200,000,000 and has created success for a lot of other people as well. He believes in creating quality content and sharing it with your community. In his case it took 2,5 years before his content generated success for him, but look at how much success he has now. It was obviously worth the wait. For what it’s worth. there are stories of people who used his method and became successful within a year. One guy said that he was sharing quality content and did not see results for 6 months, but in the 6 months that followed his business skyrocketed and he is now earning 3x more as before.

Stop buying into the crap that fake internet guru’s share on Youtube. They just create fake images showing that they made millions of dollars within a year. Then try to sell you a method that used to work, but that is no longer working. That’s how they make money. Did you know that 1% of people in America earn $500,000 or more per year? Do you think those people will actually reveal how they are doing that and risk losing revenue? Methods that really make a lot of money are saturated very soon once employed by the masses. Everybody is looking for a quick way to make money.

The truth is that when it comes to promoting your business you have to be patient and willing to produce quality content every day that will eventually create a community of people that feel good about supporting you. And doesn’t it make sense that this will produce long lasting results? You should focus on long term not short term.

When it comes to success it’s really not that hard to figure out what you need to do (create valuable content/services/products), it just takes a while to get where you want to be. Good things take time.
